Denham is about 30mins drive from Monkey Mia in the Shire of Shark Bay. If you’ve staying in Shark Bay or travelling through then Denham’s foreshore playground is fantastic for kids of all ages. We stayed at the Denham Tourist Village Caravan Park and the playground became a regular activity for us to cycle to along the foreshore. Denham is a very small town with little more than a few cafes, bakery, petrol station and a few boutique shops. Midway Southbound & Northbound, West Pinjarra Travelling for a holiday in WA’s South West Region recently, we found a convenient place to stop and break up our drive. Midway Southbound is about 80 kilometres south between Perth and Bunbury. For the return journey, there’s a sister stop, Midway Northbound, on the opposite side of the highway. After a long 2 year wait with the foreshore being closed the new park was officially opened in October 2019. Situated at the northern end of Geraldton, just up from the Geraldton Museum, Beresford Foreshore Park is a great place to stop in on your next road trip. It is fenced but there are gate width openings to be aware of. The playground has play equipment suitable for all ages. Emu Point playground is situated right on the beach front. It is a fantastic place to come on a nice warm day to combine a swim in the ocean and a play at the park. There are a few barbeque areas with tables and chairs scattered around. The playground itself has a couple of swings, one being a toddler seat. Children can climb on the rope obstacle course or join a friend on the stand-up see-saw. Miss 3 particularly enjoyed the pirate ship that was mounted on springs.
