If you are looking for a fun interactive party where the adults have as much fun as the kids then make sure you check out the birthday parties on offer at Scitech!
Scitech parties are suitable for children aged 4 to 12 years and are 1.5 hours jam packed full of hands on science fun! Your party booking includes two entertaining party hosts, a private party room and unlimited free time to explore Scitech before and after the party session.
Scitech parties are great value at $25 per head (minimum 15 people). This includes entry for the invited child plus accompanying adult. Any additional adults and siblings over the age of 4 are charged at the child rate of $12.
I found that this was a party where the Dad was more than happy to bring along their child while mum enjoyed some kid free shopping time at neighbouring Water Town!
There are two styles of birthday party to choose from:
Science Workshop Party which consists of science show, hands-on workshop, allocated birthday cake time and a take home science activity.
Self-Catered Birthday Party which consists of a science show, allocated eating and birthday cake time and a take home science activity.
The party entertainment starts at allocated party time with an introduction from your party host. From my experience I would ask your guests to arrive 30 minutes before your allocated party time so that party guests can spend sometime together exploring Scitech and also to allow for any latecomers.
First up was the 30-minute Science Show where the party guests watched a range of engaging science experiments ranging from creating gooey slime to loud explosions!
After the science show we were lead to our private party room to conduct our own science experiments. The first was a challenge to work in pairs to see who could create the tallest tower out of dried spaghetti pasta and marshmallows.
The kids enjoyed the challenge and got quite competitive with each other. It was great to see all the interesting structures that were created.
The next task was big hit with all the kids as they got to make their own fizzy sherbet. Each ingredient and the properties it had were explained to the kids as they added it.
By the end of the experiment we discovered that the saliva in your mouth causes the citric acid crystals to dissolve which in turn reacts with the bicarbonate of soda and produces carbon dioxide gas. The bubbles of carbon dioxide make the fizzy feeling on your tongue.
After all that experimentation it was time for cake. You can opt to bring along your own cake or Scitech can provide a Neapolitan ice cream cake for an additional $15. Candles, plates and utensiles are provided by Scitech.
After the party session you and your guests are free to spend time discovering Scitech. Miss 6 found that hanging out in a wind tunnel in your party dress was a lot of fun!
Birthday parties at Scitech are highly engaging,
educational and packed full of fun. Many of the party guests
stayed on after the party and enjoyed making their way around all
the interactive exhibits on offer. The Jet Pack simulator seemed
to be a big hit with a few of the parents!
You know your party has been a big hit when your child comes home from school the next day and says that everyone in her class wants their next birthday party at Scitech and that they would like to have their party at Scitech again next birthday because they really love science!
