Tucked within the familyโfriendly Providence Estate in Wellard, Bullrush Park XL Adventure Playground is a fantastic destination for kids who love a good climbing challenge. The hero of the park is the impressive 8โmetre rope climbing tower, which instantly draws in adventurous kids and tweens keen to scramble up high and take in the views before whooshing back down one of the slides.

The splitโlevel design of the Playground means thereโs something to suit a wide range of ages and confidence levels. Older children will be drawn to the tall tower and its twisty enclosed slide, while the bumpy slide and the very cool roller slide add variety and extra thrills. The different slide styles are great for kids who like to test out speed and texture, and they help keep repeat visits interesting.

Around the main structure thereโs plenty of opportunity for active, physical play. Kids can explore tunnels and clamber over rocks, tackle log balance beams and stepping stones, and swing high on both a tripod swing and traditional swings. These elements encourage gross motor skills, coordination and imaginative play, whether theyโre pretending to be explorers, mountain climbers or superheroes on a mission.

Bullrush Park also includes excellent sand play, which was a clear highlight for our little tester. The sand play equipment invites children to dig, move and shape sand, and the builtโin stencils are perfect for creating patterns and pictures. A few sensory boards dotted around the walkway add to the experience, giving younger children extra things to touch, spin and explore as they wander around the play space.

For parents and carers, the park is well laid out for a relaxed visit. There is plenty of shaded seating, along with a shaded BBQ area that makes it easy to settle in for a picnic or casual family gathering. A large grassed area sits alongside the play equipment, ideal for ball games, running races or spreading out a picnic rug while the kids move between the Playground and the open space.

The main downside is a common one for newer estate Playgrounds โ there are no public toilets on site. Itโs worth planning ahead and making a bathroom stop before you arrive, especially with toddlers or newly toiletโtrained kids. Aside from that, Bullrush Park XL Adventure Playground is a brilliant, wellโdesigned community play space thatโs worth the drive if your kids love climbing, sliding and exploring in a naturalโstyle setting.
