Arts Edge Cafe, Edgewater
Arts Edge Cafe is a new, modern cafe located in Edgewater. It’s a great spot to enjoy art or just relax with a coffee while the kids play in the colourful kids corner.
On walking in today, we were greeted warmly by the barista. We chatted a moment, then found a table. Miss 5 immediately gravitated to the kids corner. This is still in the process of being finished, with local Perth artist Peter Ryan completing the whimsical paintings this week. Currently the corner has some toddler toys and some jigsaw puzzles, but I am sure more will be coming with artificial turf being laid in the corner.
At Arts Edge Cafe, art is everywhere. Not just on the walls. Even the tables feature artwork! Miss 5 chose a table closest to the play area. She says it was her favourite.
Seating is available inside and outside under umbrellas. There’s a comfortable couch at the front of the cafe with a coffee table and extra seats. A great spot for a group.
The atmosphere is bright and airy. There is loads of space and you could easily park a little one in a pram or stroller.
During our visit we ordered a melting moment cookie and a latte. Miss 5 requested a vanilla milkshake. These are not on the menu, but the kind barista was happy to make her one. All these came to around $14.
My latte was excellent! A lovely, smooth blend. Miss 5 said her cookie was delicious. I barely managed to get a photo of it! The milkshake was great too. Not too sweet and full of vanilla flavour. It came in a large smoothie glass, and between the two of us we didn’t manage to finish it.
The food options at Arts Edge are simple. A glass cabinet stocks cakes, pastries, quiche, small pizzas, cakes and slices. Fresh muffins and cookies are available next to the register. A drinks fridge adjacent stocks cold pressed juice, soft drink, kombucha and more.
In addition to the cafe and artwork for sale, Arts Edge also does framing and photo printing. Therefore you can arrange photo printing or picture framing during your visit. On the other hand, if you’re artistic yourself, another service they offer is a training room and a photographic studio. Thse are available for seminars, group meetings, and art and photography workshops. See the website for details.
