Have you got a curious little wonder kid? AQWA’s Wonder Kids Workshop is an exciting new program created exclusively for kids aged 3-5.
This unique 8 week workshop is designed to nurture your child’s curiosity as they learn about iconic sea creatures and their environment, with AQWA’s aquariums as their very own interactive classroom.
Each week, your little ocean explorer will attend AQWA (before open time!) to participate in a 45 minute session where they will discover a new sea creature. The session will engage children in learning through a combination of song, sign language, movement activities, storytelling, crafts and a short age-appropriate exhibit tour. The program incorporates essential school-readiness elements in a relaxed, safe and fun way, as children are encouraged to practice their expression, attention and social skills throughout the program’s activities. Please note an adult guardian is required throughout all sessions.
Wonder Kids has been developed by AQWA’s qualified Marine Biologist Sasha Thompson, who is a mum of two little ones herself, and who has over 15 years’ experience creating education programs.
The classes run within school term on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.15am-10am. Enrolments are open now, be quick as term starts 30 July and 1 August: https://aqwa.rezdy.com/314811/wonder-kids-workshop-ages-3-5
- Child Course Fee: $48.00 (all inclusive)
- Parent Fee: $105 for an AQWA Adult Annual Membership Pass, which also gives unlimited general admission to AQWA for 12 months.
If you already have an Adult Annual Membership Pass, you need only pay the Child Course Fee.
The fine print:
*Parents are expected to stay with their child during the class. Younger siblings are able to attend, as long as they are under 18 months of age and do not actively participate in the course.
*Purchasing an Adult Annual Membership Pass admits the parent to all Wonder Kids classes and also general admission to AQWA for any other time. You must provide ID when using your Annual Membership Pass, as they are non-transferable (cannot be used by another person).
*There are no make-up days for missed lessons. However at your next lesson, your child will be provided with the animal information sheet and the materials for the missed craft activity to complete at home. Our Ocean Guide will also endeavour (time permitting) at the end of the class to guide you to the exhibit of the missed week’s sea creature and share some fun facts with you.
*All our sessions have learning links to kindy and pre-primary curriculums; include fundamental movement skills; give the opportunity to practice social and self-regulation skills in a group environment; and help develop the fine motor control that will be used for writing.
