New Years Day 2019
January 1, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Celebrate the start of 2019 at the City’s annual New Years Day Concert & Fireworks! A family friendly event alongside the iconic and picturesque Canning river with plenty of entertainment all day long.
Quench your thirst at our two licensed bars, fill your tummies with delicious food from over 12 food trucks and entertain the kids with some incredible games and fun. There will be roving entertainment and some fantastic live music and performances.
The evening wouldn’t be complete without a dazzling display of fireworks brought to you by Cardile Fireworks, bringing the event to a close at 8.30pm.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION (with more details to come)
Free parking will be available in the oval adjacent to the event site. Please enter from Watersby Crescent or Riverton Drive North. Click here for a map.
Please note due to large masses of pedestrian traffic this car park will not be opened until at least 15 minutes after the end of the fireworks. We appreciate your patience.
Please refrain from parking on any home verges or the median strips – this disrupts our residents and blocks the way of emergency service vehicles and general flow of traffic.
Food and alcohol
You are welcome to pack your own picnic and alcohol, however given this is a family event we do ask you to drink responsibly. There are two licensed bars with RSA trained staff who will deny you entry if deemed appropriate. A range of food trucks will also be present.
Emergency Services and Key Personnel
The event will have WA Police, State Emergency Services, City of Canning Community Safety Officers and St John Ambulance – all here to help.
Should you experience a problem with someone’s health, anti social behaviour, a lost child etc. please approach one of these officers or the Event Coordinators.
Setting up your space
Feel free to bring picnic rugs, chairs and even marquees. Note that there will be zones to allow all to see the stage and fireworks show. Marquees will be directed towards the back, with low chairs and picnic rugs towards the front, plus a designated dance area in front of the stage. Please adhere to these zones.
