WA Forest Alliance Petition Handover Picnic at Parliament House
March 21 @ 11:45 am - 1:15 pmFree
Are you a stay at home carer, who enjoys going in to visit the city with the kids?
The WA Forest Alliance are having a BYO picnic party on Wednesday 21st March, from 11.45pm on the steps of Parliament House.
We will be celebrating handing over one of the largest ever WA petitions (over 12,000 signatures and counting), urging the current government to full fill their election promise to permanently protect our high conservation value native forests in our South West (included the last remnants of old growth forests) from logging. Some of these ancient trees have been found to be 600 years old, with most of it being sold overseas as wood chips . The WA Government can help workers transition to a better managed timber farming industry, while protecting our native forests.
We invite all The buggy buddy community to come down for a picnic and a play and show their support!
I know its close to nap time, but I’ll be there with my double pram and kids!
Some of us are getting dressed up as native flora or fauna, some of us are painting green hearts on our hands, come down and join the fun!
Once in the city, you can catch the free Green Cat bus to Malcolm Street, or the free Red Cat Bus to Hay Street to walk up to Parliament House.
Hope to see many of you there!
