If your kids love Play School on tv, get ready to enjoy the live show!
Play School Live in Concert – Prince of Bears is a fun, interactive story show which features all your favourite toys, and is presented by Alex Papps and Emma Palmer, with Bill on piano.
The main story of the show follows Big Ted, a prince looking for a castle, who meets lots of his Play School friends along the way. Look out for appearances by Little Ted, Fergus, Jemima and Sam the Lamb, Slush the Pig, and Scrap the Dog.
The show is full of music, humour (some for the kids, some for the adults), and features a story towards the middle, much like the tv show format.
We attended the show at Morley Sports and Recreation Centre, and were delighted that children were encouraged all to get up and dance along, and that Alex and Emma asked them questions to help with the story. Running at a smaller venue, and not an arena, the show feels more intimate and children feel more included and closer to the Play School magic.
My Miss 3 had a ball dancing along to familiar nursery rhymes and songs we’ve seen on the tv show, and adults like myself found ourselves getting involved in the actions and singing along. It’s a show for the whole family, but definitely a big hit with the littler family members.
A little heads up… like most kids shows, there is a merchandise stand selling toys, books, masks and other items related to the show. At the Morley show, it was set up right at the back of the theatre, so if you’re on a budget and not wanting to spend extra, you should be able to avoid the merch stand.
My Miss 3 ended up with a Big Ted, who she danced with and took shopping after the show.
Play School Live in Concert – Prince of Bears is fun, engaging and full of energy. The show runs approximately 40 minutes, which is just enough for little ones I think.
Play School Live in Concert – Prince of Bears has tickets available in Western Australia until Sunday 17th of September. Locations include Morley, Bunbury, Balcatta, Fremantle and Como.
