The Wild Fig Cafe, Scarborough

The Wild Fig is a lovely restaurant located on the beach front of Scarborough. It was a cold winter night when we visited, so it was a nice welcome when we stepped inside to find out they had the log fire going.

Although the view is not the greatest at the moment, due to the upgrades that are happening in the area, the inside of the restaurant is just gorgeous. The lighting was dimmed and all the tables had candles on them. It felt really warm. As well as the seating inside, there is a small alfresco area that you could also sit in. This would be a lovely place to enjoy a meal once all the upgrades have been completed in Scarborough.

When we sat down, they immediately brought some crayons and a colouring sheet for miss 3. There is also a selection of newspapers and magazines available to read while you wait for a meal, or just to enjoying while having a coffee.

The Wild Fig is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even to pop in for coffee and cake. The cakes they had available looked delicious by the way.

We went for dinner which they started serving at 5:30pm. They have a range of beer and cider on tap as well as some bottled beer and wine. I had the beef and chorizo pasta (which was on special – WINNING)! And hubby had the barramundi. The food was amazing. Hubby said that the fish was the nicest he has had to date.

They do have a kids menu available, but miss 3 had been snacking all afternoon as usual, so we decided she could just share my pasta. It was a good thing we did, because there was certainly enough of it. They have a kids eat free promotion with any main meal purchased on Tuesdays. If you have an entertainment book, there is a buy one main meal and get one free voucher also. We will definitely be returning again.

The Wild Fig is located at 190 The Esplanade in Scarborough. You can find out more information or have a look at the menu online at
