Luminous Park is a “super fun” new playground that has everything (minus toilets) and is the third amazing great play space for the lucky residents of the vibrant Iluma Private Estate in Bennett Springs. The huge blue climbing tower is easy for little climbers to navigate and features a giant tunnel slide, a smaller slide, noughts and crosses, and a picnic table at the top. Located across from the WA Museum Boola Bardip is the Perth Cultural Centre Playspace, a quirky little play space which has a heavy focus on sensory play. The Playspace is fully fenced and gated and it is open daily from 8am – 7pm. It is recommended that the playspace is suitable most for children aged 6 – 13 years but children under that age can get a lot out of it too. Wyong Reserve in Bentley is a great little park with a lot going on. The playground is fully fenced and has a pathway running around it that is designed as a road to ride scooters and bikes along. There a few large speed humps, and we said next time we come we will have to bring the scooter. There are benches around the playground and an undercover area with BBQs and picnic benches. Brabham has recently added a new park to Ariella estate, Ariella Adventure Park, and it’s absolutely delightful. The park features an awesome dragonfly play structure which consists of two rope climbing frames and one giant slide. The kids loved climbing up high at the top of the frame then walking along, before doing their best speed down the slide! It kept them entertained for ages! Located hillside of City Beach Oval is a BRAND NEW playground full of personality and adventure! The highlight for the kids was definitely twin mirrored hill racing slides! Although fast they are suitable for most ages, and big enough for us parents to take our little ones down! The nature-based playground also includes a variety of balancing and stepping logs. Featherflower Park is located in Dayton it is a new open space that has just been added to the suburb. The park includes stunning natural wetlands with different play areas for kids of all ages to explore plus an outdoor gym for the adults. Found besides the waters of Lake Claremont is a small, but lovely nature playground. The newish play area opened in July 2018 and has been designed for primary school aged kids, though little ones will love the sand play! The main fort structure is suitable for older kids, as it is made up of wooden steps and rope to climb up to the top. Strive Park, Girrawheen Strive Park is a small park located in the Blackmore Park Estate, in Girrawheen. The playground here features nature play elements, some traditional play elements, and a bike and scooter track. It’s sure to be a hit with the kids! Botany Park located in Hammond Park has just undergone a fantastic upgrade. It is now toddler-friendly fully fenced with various pool gate entry points. Fontana Park is a brand new (April 2022) little park is hidden away in Trinity Estate, Alkimos. Whilst not big, it kept my 3 children busy for easily over an hour. There is a huge log swing which they loved and lots of room for everyone! The rock climbing wall was popular with my younger 2 children, which takes you up to the epic slide! Lincoln Road Reserve in Forrestfield has had a recent upgrade adding nature play, ninja course and double flying fox to the existing play equipment. The double flying fox has a seat with a harness and the disc-style. The flying fox is quite long and as always we spent quite a bit of time on here. The popular Mills Park facility has recently opened a new all-abilities playground near the bbqs and grassed area. This new edition to the existing Mills Park Playspace and Skate Plaza is fully fenced and double gated which is also great for younger children. Britannia Reserve Pump Track Britannia Reserve Pump Track is a 1.2km pump track and nature bike trail in Leederville. Close to the city, it’s a great spot to take active kids of all ages out riding. Britannia Reserve Pump Track was originally installed as part of a Pop-Up Play initiative in April 2019. It has quickly become a permanent fixture. Canning River Regional Park is a large park and wetlands area covering about 6kms located around the Canning River. We usually go to the Kent St Weir area which also has the Canning River Cafe there but recently we discovered another playground a short walk away. Lake Monger is now home to an exciting new adventure playground! The playground has been specifically designed for children over the age of 5 who love a challenge! John MacMillan Park next to the library in Victoria Park has just reopened with a brand new nature playground, basketball courts, open grass and more. The new equipment has been designed around the lovely trees giving it a nice combination of natural shade and shade sails. There are toilets conveniently located behind the basketball area. Considering Wanneroo is built on old market garden land, it is very fitting that the recently upgraded Frederick Duffy Park is farming themed. This great little park has something for everyone. We recently stopped at the new Ernest Johnson Reserve playground in South Perth. This is a great little playground with plenty for mixed ages, a large oval and bbq facilities. There is also a carpark with plenty of parking. The space is suitable for dogs with a drinking fountain and doggy bowl but dogs must stay out the playground. The playground area is spread out into about four separate areas. Each area does have benches or seating nearby parents can easily supervise their kids play. We have been excitedly watching the brand new Halesworth Park in Butler near completion for weeks and today we finally got the chance to explore this brilliant new addition to Perth’s far northern suburbs! Rossiter Pavilion and Playing Fields in Piara Waters, in the Holland Park Estate, boasts a small playground packed with natureplay and adventure for curious, energetic kids. The first part to grab Miss 4’s attention was the three in-ground trampolines in the middle of the playground.
