The Caterpillar Playground is a favourite amongst families in Mandurah. Parents love it due to the fact it is enclosed and kids love it because there is so much to do.
Also known as Milgar Street Reserve, the Caterpillar Playground is easily accessible via Park Road with plenty of parking available. Access is also available via Reserve Drive for those on foot. Be wary on weekends though, it is situated next door to the BMX track so can be a little hard to find parking.
The entire park, with the exception of the public toilets, separate playground and basketball courts, is fenced in with safety gates tall enough to stop those quick ones from escaping.
Surrounded by plenty of trees and sails, keeping the area shaded for those warmer days, with bench seating throughout. For entertaining, there are separate undercover areas with benches and tables. One which includes two BBQs.
In recent months a few more additions have been made including a sensory play area, floor levelled merry go round and a small nest swing
Other equipment includes:
• Flying fox
• Monkey bars
• Spinning climbing frame
There are lot’s of different areas to just climb and dig.
There is also a section with 3 different level hoops to practice ball shooting.
There is also a liberty swing, which is one of the safest swings for adults or children in a wheelchair.
Toilet facilities were kept tidy and well maintained. With a separate parent/disabled room leaving plenty of room and a bench for changing. There is also a water fountain available inside the park.

Nicola Alexander is a mother of 3. She is a Manager in retail, working full time whilst her husband is a stay at home dad. A role reversal that suits them both. She enjoys baking and has quite the talent for cakes. When she has time to relax she enjoys cocktails and nibbles whilst playing the PS4 with her husband. Just don't tell him she's better than him.
