Winterworld Australia has taken over Fremantle Esplanade Park from 23 June – 15 July, with lots of snowy winter fun and outdoor ice-skating, there’s SNOW place like it! Winterworld FREE to enter but tickets must be purchased for activities including ice skating, giant slide and snow pit.
The main attraction is the huge pop-up outdoor ice-rink, an attraction everyone will love from young children, families, teens and adults, it is also wheelchair accessible. Penguins are available for a fee to help keep you stable as you skate around the rink. The only restriction is due to safety reasons pregnant women and babies or children in arms are unable to skate, the recommended age for children is 2+.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office, it is strongly recommended that you purchase tickets in advance as sessions do sell out and there is also a discount for online bookings. Early bird tickets are also available between Monday 25 – Friday 29 June with Under5’s FREE (usually $5) and everyone else $15 +BF (saving up to $9 per skater).
Online tickets are; under 5’s $5.00 + BF, children aged 5 – 15yrs $15.00 + BF, adults $24.00 + BF and penguins $10.00 +BF. Sessions are 1 hr and all ticket prices include FREE skate hire. Double runners and helmets are available for the little ones.
You can even join Snow Sisters’, Elsa and Anna for Musical Morning Sessions, there will be lots of singing and dancing – perfect for the little ones and early risers. 8:30am – 9:30am daily.
If you aren’t into skating there are multiple seating options available, board games, fire pits, and bar to enjoy while watching, and it’s FREE to spectate!
We had a great time roasting marshmallows by the fire. Delicious and a great way to keep warm.
Other activities to enjoy are a huge inflatable pop-up slide, and a REAL snow pit – the fun isn’t limited to just the kids!
Children and adults can jump, slip and slide on the giant inflatable slide. Tickets can be purchased online for $5 +BF for 10 minutes.
WA’s first REAL snow pit is heaps of fun as well, from building snow castles to making snow angels – we had a blast, just make sure you pack some gloves. Tickets can be purchased online, under 5 $5 +BF, 5+ $8.50 +BF for 15 minutes.Children under 5 must be accompanied by paying adult.
There year there is the new Market Square where you can purchase some winter goodies.
There is also heaps to keep the kids entertain off the ice with free kids activities and entertainment, an arts and crafts corner, library and circus workshops.
Winterworld Fremantle is open Sunday to Thursday 8:30am to 8:30pm (last session at 7:30pm). Friday and Saturday 8:30am to 9:30pm (last session at 8:30pm).
