Wonderlust Cafe in Seville Grove is perfect for a hearty breakfast, healthful lunch or a chance to indulge in something sweet without the guilt! We are always on the hunt for cafes that not only offer gluten free options but serve the type of meals we cook and enjoy at home. Wonderlust is leading the way with its quality menu, service and passion for real food and convenience with their drive through option, which on a Saturday morning with feral ravenous kids in the car is a godsend!
The cafe itself is not huge but has ample seating in a gorgeously warm and inviting setting. There is an alfresco option set up in the warmer months. There are lots of lovely little touches to encourage customers to relax and enjoy the ambience whilst waiting for the amazing food to arrive. Two large water dispensers infused with orange, mint, strawberry and cucumber were refreshing and a great aesthetic with plastic cups on offer for the kids. There is a small but sufficient kids corner near the entrance where children can be seen from all points of the cafe. It’s stocked with toys, puppets and books which my daughter enjoyed bringing a couple back to the table while she waited for her meal. In the Summer months, an outdoor section is set up for little ones.
They serve a standard drinks menu and 5 Senses coffee which my husband enjoyed. There are also plenty of loose leaf tea options and a “Fruit Elixir” juice range all made with coconut water including Mint Crush, Strawberry Fields, Tropica and Sunrise.
I ordered myself a Beetroot Latte with almond milk from the Specialty Coffees, which was delightful. The Chocolate Beetroot and Tiramisu lattes sounded delicious too. We ordered a spearmint milkshake for little miss which was huge.I also realised (after seeing another mum with her little one) that you can downsize drinks to a kids option and they will also downsize any meal from the main menu to “accommodate little tummies”. Glorious!
The “Little Mites Menu” is unbelievable. It’s always exciting to see a kids menu offering something outside the box of nuggets, chips or pizza (not that my kids don’t love those). Healthful tummy filling options include Ciabatta Toast and toppings, Egg and Soldiers, Crepes and ice cream, Banoffee French Toast and Chicken breast bites. We ordered the Beer battered and sweet potato chips, which went a treat with her milkshake bucket.
I ordered the GF Apple Crumble Crepes with cinnamon apples, walnuts, vanilla ice cream and maple syrup and nearly wept it was so good. Devine! The Super Green Bowl was one of the best meals we’ve had out for a long time. Steamed kale, asparagus, green beans, half an avo and lemon dukkah sprinkled over the top. It would have been perfection if I’d remembered to order hubby the poached egg on top but I was distracted by the treats in the display cabinets!
Lots of gluten free, Vegan and Vegetarian options on the menu and in the display cabinet! The menu has a great range including all day breakfast fare, burgers, rolls, salads, nachos and we are super keen to try the Burrito Buddah Bowl and who could resist Loaded Maple bacon fries!!
Go to their Facebook page for all info and check out their blog where they share an inspiring ethos as well as their menus and new product launches etc – like Charcoal Lattes! Yum!
